Motorola announce Milestone the first Android 2 phone for Europe

 The Motorola Milestone will be the first Android 2.0 phone available in Europe, and will be offered through the O2 and Vodafone service providers.
Motorola today announced that the Motorola Milestone will be Europe's first smartphone powered by the Google Android 2.0 platform. The Milestone will include a slide-out QWERTY thumb board, 3.7-inch widescreen display with a resolution of up to 480 by 854 pixels, a touchscreen with zoom and pinch functions and double tap as standard. The phone will also include a mid range 5 megapixel camera with Dual LED flash.
As with other Android 2.0 phones, the Motorola Milestone will also offer a variey of Google Apps, such as Google Maps, Google Maps Navigation, Google Talk, Google Mail and the trustworthy YouTube. The smartphone also incorporates native support for Microsoft's Exchange server platform.
Thanks to the powers of Android 2.0, the phone will also supply an improved Android mobile browser with support for HTML5. The phones memory will be a standard 8GB microSD memory card which is bundled in the package. The memory can be increased anything up to 32GB.
Weighing in at 165 grams and measuring 115mm x 60mm x 13 mm the phone is sleek and slender. A sizeable battery ensures up to 5 hours of talk time. The Milestone smartphone operates on Quad-band GSM networks and 900/2100 MHz 3G networks.
The Motorola Milestone will be available in Germany through O2 and Vodafone initially. Eventually shipping to Italy with the availability of the Motorola Milestone elsewhere being announced some time soon!
